As we've stated before, connecting people is at the heart of everything YPCC. And as you know, connecting people in-person is not the right thing for our community right now.
To that end, we've made the heart-wrenching decision to postpone this Saturday's gala concert.
We know that these decisions make a huge impact on our supporters, our singers and our organization's sustainability. We also know that COVID-19 is creating ripples that reach far into our communities and country right now.
Right now we are all in the midst of a lot of unknowns, but, in the open and emotional spirit of our choral organization, let me share what we do know:
1. Save the date - While Saturday's concert will not take place, we are planning to move the event to May 19, replacing our spring concert. For our singers this means that we will replicate this same music and event at the Museum Center. For our patrons it means that you can enjoy a different version of this same concert, in the same space, but on a different date.
2. Online Auction - While this cancellation will impact our organization's bottom line in a significant way, we will be running an online "UnGala" over the next week, allowing you to partake of the amazing raffle and auction items so generously donated from our partners and sponsors. We, like so many of you, stand to lose a lot - almost $20,000 - due to this cancellation. You will be sent a link to this online auction shortly. Your support will help us plan for our future.
3. For our singers - We are YPCC. This cancellation has us down, but not out. We have felt your enthusiasm for this event and we have seen photos of fabulous outfits. While we can’t sing together this weekend (and it breaks our hearts), we invite you to post photos in those fab outfits in the FB event or Singers Only Page. Let’s keep people aware of YPCC and let’s share our own joy while we do it. We hope that you will all join us in reprising this music on May 19th. Please visit the Singers Only Facebook page for more information and to answer all questions.
4. For our patrons - Your support means everything to us. At this time, we are applying a direct transfer of your current tickets for Radio Revelry to the rescheduled date of Tuesday, May 19th at the Museum Center. VIP ticket holders can rest-assured that there will still be a catered VIP experience at the concert. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled event, we hope you will consider transitioning your ticket purchase to a tax-deductible donation. If you have further questions or concerns, please reach out to us directly by email or phone at (513)-768-5563. All ticket holders will receive a direct notification and more information of this process through Eventbrite shortly.
5. For our sponsors, guest artists, staff, board, venue and more - thank you doesn't begin to cut it. The amount of hours and love that have been given (for little to no pay) do not go unnoticed. Without an event to showcase our work, we're crushed. However, we're confident in our decision to put the people in our community first.
Be well...and we'll see you soon.
Sincerely,
KellyAnn and the Staff & Board of YPCC
